Restaurant Review: Extraordinary Desserts

Extraordinary Desserts - Chocolate Cupcake
Chocolate Cupcake

Extraordinary Desserts have some of the most fantastical looking food and sweets imaginable. Fruit here, a flower there, a delicate gold flake placed just right…beautiful. I love how they use frosting and natural items instead of fondant. It gives their desserts such an elegant look. I feel bad for eating such a piece of art.

The Chocolate Cupcake’s cake was moist and the frosting was an actual mousse. None of the fruit–on any of our dishes– was old or overripe. They were just perfect. The raspberries complimented the rich chocolate flavors and the dessert was accented with rose petals and chocolate shavings.

Even my Rose Lemonade (a must get btw) came with a petal.

Extraordinary Desserts - Smoked Salmon Panini
Smoked Salmon Panini

My dish. The Smoked Salmon Panini. Filled with salmon, tomatoes, avocado, greens, and a miso mayo, inside of a toasty bread of deliciousness. The bread was perfect. I just have to tell you. It was crunchy and flavorful–the type of flavorful you can only taste in rustic breads. On top of that, this thing was huge. I could only eat half of it.

Extraordinary Desserts - Serrano Ham Panini

The Serrano Ham Panini that looked just as tasty as mine. My mom said it was great and the ham was just what she wanted. It also, like mine, came with purple potato salad which was also quite tasty.

Look at that gold flake! Beautiful presentation.

Extraordinary Desserts - Coconut Ice Cream

My Grandma’s Coconut Ice Cream. I wish I took a bite of this. This looks absolutely divine.

This place was great in my opinion and I want to go back sometime soon. I still have to take the hubster so hopefully we can make a date sometime in the near future ;p

There food is such an inspiration on how adding such a simple things as a flower petal can bring delight to a dish. I’m going to have to try it on dishes I make at home.
