Black Garlic Aioli

Simple to make and sure to impress, black garlic aioli is a crowd pleaser!

Looking for that perfect dish that can be used as an appetizer, snack, or spread, with a bit of uniqueness that will impress your friends, family, and guests? Let me introduce you to Black Garlic Aioli. It takes less than five minutes to prepare and has a lovely sweet flavor.

Black garlic looks weird, but it’s nothing to be afraid of. They make the garlic by slowly heating bulbs of garlic over a span of weeks to basically caramelize it. We’re finally seeing it here in America and it’s become quite trendy.

Black garlic aioli has a large variety of uses. Personally, I love using it as a dip for vegetables—especially artichoke, but you can also use it as a sandwich or burger spread, dip for fries(sweet potato fries YUM!), on top of cooked seafood such as shrimp or crab cakes, and the list goes on and on.

I have it shown above as a dip for a vegetable platter. It’s really lovely to take to parties and again, crazy simple. It’s also Whole30 safe!

It looks really odd, but it tastes amazing. Don’t let the color scare you. I picked up mine at an asian market, but you can also get it at Trader Joes or online at Amazon Whole Black Garlic. ANNNND I just saw that they are selling a black garlic maker. I think I’m going to have to put that on my “to get” list. I might be slightly obsessed.

For the recipe, you take two cloves of black garlic and mash it.
