White Sangria

Sangria

This is a previous sangria I made with peaches, apples, and lemons instead

I’ve been listening to a lot of classic lounge music lately and that means two things : I want to cook Italian food and I want a really good sangria. These don’t have anything in common, but my brain thinks that they do.

When I was younger, I took a trip to Europe and fell in love with Italy. While there, we of course listened to Dean Martin’s “That’s Amore” over and over and over. With Martin’s music playing, Frank Sinatra came next followed by others of that same sexy swagger.

With good music and good food, I want a glass of wine. Wine with a little extra in it is even better.

So you see, it all does correlate in some way or another.

Today, I give you sangria! It’s delicious, refreshing, and strong. You could actually get drunk just off the fruit. Let’s check it out.

Sangria

Here we go! You gather a grouping of fruits that you enjoy. I selected an apple, some strawberries, and some blueberries for this sangria. This recipe works with any sort of fruit you’d like to use though.

Here is a secret that works with blueberries and grapes. CUT THEM. They will soak up the alcohol much better. If you place your berries on the lid of a plastic container…

Sangria

Put another lid on top of the berries…

And with a serrated knife, cut between the lids with a slight angle…

You just cut your berries in half with minimal effort.

Sangria

Add all your fruits into a bowl and add enough brandy to barely cover them. Let them soak for a few hours or overnight for really strong flavored fruit. Remove the fruit from the brandy and place in a carafe.

Sangria

Add a bottle of wine, a mixture of brandy, citron patron, and simple syrup into the carafe with your fruit in it. So good!

This is a great drink to make with friends over, for a dinner party, or a holiday party! Enjoy and drink responsibly!

Hello!

Avatar for ApronWarriorI’m Carolann and I’m obsessed with food. Seriously, I live and sleep thinking about food. I’m on a mission to create doable, real food recipes
from scratch as well as living a more natural life style. I also believe that life should be celebrated and one of the best ways to do that is around a dinner table with friends and family (+ a game for some extra bits of laughter and edge of your seat competition). If you’re new here, I invite you to check out some of my favorite recipes or my story that lead me to real food.
