We’re finally in our new home!

I can’t believe everything is finally settled and done. Well, almost done…we still have a ton of unpacking to do, but we’re still making progress. We didn’t have Internet for a while, so the posts from the last couple of days will be dated back to the “proper” date and I won’t put them all up at once so I don’t drive you guys crazy. I’ll be posting two of them a day (an old one and the current day’s post).

In the last week, we’ve emptied the two storage units and moved the majority of the boxes into their respected rooms. I’ve ALMOST unpacked the kitchen, but I have it in working order finally. I was going crazy not being able to make food in the new kitchen–or in general.

Chris and a friend worked on removing part of a built in entertainment center. That was an event in itself. We weren’t sure if we would be able to do it by ourselves or if we’d have to hire a contractor to do it, but the two of them took care of it swimmingly.

In the downstairs bathroom, there was this mirror I was complaining about, telling Chris how we would have to replace it. It was round with frosted glass along the edges (sorry I don’t have a picture!). When we got to the house to receive the keys, the mirror was actually taken by the previous owners. They weren’t supposed to take it, but I didn’t care. I laughed since it was the one thing I complained about. World Market had a great little mirror that we picked up with a coupon. I was thrilled.

The curtains and rug have been ordered and we’re just waiting for the arrival. I did get the rug I put on my “wish list” but the curtains were not the correct size, so I went with some I found on Etsy. I have a few paintings to work on after we have everything unpacked, and those will go in the dinning room and living room.
