I am a garlic addict.
100% truth. I love garlic in pretty much everything. What about garlic breath you say? It’s sexy.
Today I’m going to show you how to make garlic super tasty in an incredibly easy way. Garlic. Roasted. If you’ve never had roasted garlic before your mind is about to be blown.
Roasted garlic is rich and flavorful and filled with a rustic deliciousness. It takes two ingredients to make and about thirty minutes of your time. It can be added to a number of amazing recipes: mashed potatoes, jalapeños poppers, roasts, pastas, dips–you name it.
First thing you’re going to do is get some fresh garlic and slice off the top of the head. The picture above is not fresh garlic but was the only one I had left over. You can tell that it’s not fresh because the little green shoots that are starting to appear. Greener than what you see here, I would remove the shoots as it could cause stomach issues. Fresh garlic will not have any green on the inside at all.
Put your garlic on foil and pour olive oil over it. Wrap the garlic and bake it at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
When the garlic is done, allow it to cool a bit. The garlic should have browned a little. One it has slightly cooled, you can remove the garlic cloves and smash them, spread them, or eat them whole. They now have a wonderful buttery flavor and are soft and squishy. Below I have taken the garlic out (remove any hard pieces that may have burned when you do this) and mashed them to prep them for the recipe they will be added too.
Now that you now how incredibly easy roasted garlic can be, go out and make some! Add it to your recipes and enjoy!
