Cuban Lettuce Wrap

Cuban wraps are hearty with a great combination of salty, sweet, and sour in one bite!

Cuban wraps are hearty with a great combination of salty, sweet, and sour in one bite! The best part is, you can still enjoy the tastes of a Cuban sandwich without the gluten!

Last week we focused on Texas and Harvey, this week, we are bringing awareness to charities that are helping with the damaged caused by Irma.

The charity I’m bringing awareness to is the SOS foundation. This is the only food bank in the Keyes and they have worked to bring food to those in need, despite having suffered damages themselves. The SOS Foundation works as a food bank, community kitchen, and nutritional education organization. If you would like to donate, please check out their page.

I’ve been to Florida twice in my life. Both times were for business, but I did manage to go to Disney World before leaving. One day I hope to go back to swim with the manatees (I have a huge soft spot for those cute bundles of love). Cuban food in Florida is amazing. The dishes I had were full of flavor and always fresh. While I didn’t have a Cuban sandwich until much later in life, I wanted to recreate the flavors without the toasted bread.

This dish is fast to make and packs a bite full of flavor!

It really is as simple as it looks! Chopped pickles, swiss cheese, and a thick slice of ham cut into bite-sized pieces are your main ingredients!

Hello!

Avatar for ApronWarriorI’m Carolann and I’m obsessed with food. Seriously, I live and sleep thinking about food. I’m on a mission to create doable, real food recipes
from scratch as well as living a more natural life style. I also believe that life should be celebrated and one of the best ways to do that is around a dinner table with friends and family (+ a game for some extra bits of laughter and edge of your seat competition). If you’re new here, I invite you to check out some of my favorite recipes or my story that lead me to real food.
