You guys, it’s official!!! We closed escrow yesterday and will be able to move in this weekend!
I’m really looking forward to getting straight to work and figuring out the flow and organization of the house. I’ve been really spoiled here at our friends’ house with their large kitchen, so we’ll see how the new one fits soon.
I’ve been looking at the listing images and have been trying to figure out how I’m going to organize this and that. I know it’s going to change as soon as I get in though. You have to go by the feel of the house. The one thing I’ve been trying to figure out, is where I’m going to put my spices? I have A LOT of spices, and I used to have them in a drawer so I could easily see them all. The new kitchen doesn’t have a large enough drawer (other than the silverware drawer) for spices. If anyone has any suggestions on spice storage, please let me know! Looks like I’ll be on Pinterest for a few hours at least.
I have created a wish list for the new home…whether or not I end up getting these things…well that’s a whole other story. I put them all together in an image so I could see how they fit style wise. I like it so far. I’ll start with one thing at a time and see how things work out. A lot of these are on sale right now, so don’t buy them all up before I get to them! 😛 The number one thing I want on this list: the bench.
I have no idea why. I just LOVE the bench. Love, love, love it! Then of course, the new kitchen table which we are going to need.
I’ll be taking pictures of before and after and putting them up on the blog when things start to happen. I love transforming a house and making it ours. If you have any suggestions on ways to make things really pop, let me know!

Aww congratulations on the house. I would love to have a big rotating spice rack in our kitchen but they just take up so much counter space. That black and white rug is awesome x

Thanks so much Laura! Rotating spice racks do take up a lot of space 🙁 They would be perfect otherwise! I think I’m going to end up putting the spices on the backside of the pantry door. Will update as soon as I figure it all out! 🙂
