Blueberry Mint Julep
From Paleo Happy Hour. So maybe the Blueberry Mint Julep isn’t my sort of drink. It was the first time I’ve had a mint julep, so I have nothing to base this version off. Chris wasn’t a fan of it much either, but after a while he said it grew on him.
I tried it without the bourbon and the flavor was great. It reminded me of something you’d get from a spa. I would actually make this in a large quantity without the bourbon for a summer party or on a hot day. It was really quite lovely. I do not believe I’ll ever be adding the bourbon into the drink again though.
The drink was fairly easy to make, the hardest part (which wasn’t very hard) was muddling the blueberries and mint. To fill a mason jar, you would need to use two servings (the recipe makes 4 servings).
The color with the bourbon wasn’t very attractive, but without it looked refreshing. Another bonus for the drink without the bourbon!
